Andy Builta is Vice President of Strategy & Business Development for the Space & Mission Systems (SMS) segment at L3Harris Technologies. In this role, he leads the segment's strategy, business development, strategic communications and business analytics for a global organization of nearly 22,000 employees delivering integrated, mission-critical solutions across the air, space, maritime and cyber domains. SMS provides advanced intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), secure networks, open-architecture platforms and end-to-end space capabilities that enable national security and mission success.

Prior to his current position, Builta served as Vice President of Strategy & Business Development and Program Management Excellence for L3Harris' former Space and Airborne Systems segment, where he led efforts focused on strategic growth, customer relationships and delivering advanced mission-critical capabilities. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of Surveillance Systems, overseeing strategy, financial performance and program execution across key mission areas including RF Payloads and Sensors, Agile Missions, Special Missions, Space Dominance, Space Antennas, and Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT). Earlier, he joined L3Harris as Vice President and General Manager of F-35 Avionics, leading business strategy and execution for F-35 avionics development and production programs.

Before joining L3Harris in 2022, Builta spent 16 years at Boeing, where he held senior leadership positions supporting advanced aircraft development and helicopter programs. He also served seven years on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as an F-15E Weapons System Officer and 13 years in the Missouri Air National Guard, retiring as Chief of Operational Assessment.

Builta holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Saint Louis University.
