Mohamed Hajem is the Chief of Staff of the Tunisian Air Force since 2017. General Hajem joined the Tunisian Military Academy in 1980 and graduated from the Hellenic Air Force Academy in 1986. He has served as an Air Unit Commander of various Air units, ranging from fighter training to transport units as well as an Air Base Commander.
He also held notable staff positions within the Ministry of Defense as Member of the Minister of Defense Cabinet, Director General of the Military Housing Office, Military Naval and Air Attaché in the Embassy of Tunisia Washington DC, Director General of the National Center for Mapping and Remote Sensing.
General Hajem is an Instructor Fighter Pilot and a graduate of the Tunisian Squadron Officer School, Tunisian Command and Staff College, Tunisian War College, USAF Air War College and the Tunisian National Defense Institute. His decorations include the Tunisian Military Medal and the Second Order Decoration of the Tunisian Republic.
