Dr. Eng. Maged Ismail
Dr. Eng. Maged Ismail Mohamed Ismail is the Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA), appointed by Presidential Decree No. 439/2025. With more than two decades of experience in space technology, satellite systems, and national capability development, he has played a pivotal role in advancing Egypt’s space sector and strengthening its technological infrastructure.
Since joining the National Space Technology Transfer Program in 2008, Dr. Ismail has contributed extensively to the development and implementation of strategic space initiatives, supporting the growth of Egypt’s indigenous satellite and space technology capabilities. Throughout his career, he has held a series of senior leadership positions, including Head of the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) Sector at the Space Technology Center, Deputy Director and later Director of the Space Technology Center, as well as Head of the Space Technology Transfer Program Management Committee. He also served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Space Agency.
Dr. Ismail holds both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Electrical Engineering and has led numerous national programs and projects related to satellite development, space systems engineering, and technology transfer. His expertise spans program management, systems engineering, satellite integration and testing, and the development of national space infrastructure.
A strong advocate for capacity building and knowledge transfer, Dr. Ismail has been actively involved in training and mentoring technical and engineering professionals, helping to cultivate the next generation of space specialists and strengthen Egypt’s human capital in the space sector.
As CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, he continues to lead initiatives that support Egypt’s ambitions in space technology, innovation, international cooperation, and sustainable development through the application of advanced space capabilities.
