Egyptian Armed Forces Host Defence Attachés Reception Ahead of ElAlamein International Airshow 2026
The Egyptian Armed Forces hosted a Defence Attachés Reception as part of preparations for ElAlamein International Airshow 2026 (EIAS 2026), which will take place from 8-10 September 2026 at El Alamein International Airport, with the conference taking place on 7 September.
The reception was attended by Lieutenant General Amr Saqr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force; Dr Sameh El Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation; Dr Eng. Maged Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of the Egyptian Space Agency; senior Armed Forces commanders; accredited military and commercial attachés in Egypt; and representatives of leading international aerospace organisations.
During the event, the Chairman of the Organising Committee reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to organising the event to the highest standards and highlighted its role as one of the most important aviation events in Africa and the Middle East.
He noted that the exhibition provides a platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing the latest developments in aviation and space technologies amid the rapid advancements taking place across both sectors globally.
The programme included a presentation by the Organising Committee and a film highlighting the success of the previous edition, which welcomed leading companies and organisations from across the aviation and space sectors.
The presentation demonstrated Egypt's capability to host major international aerospace events and reinforced the exhibition's position as a gateway to Africa and the Middle East for the latest developments in aviation, aerospace, defence and space.
The upcoming edition is expected to welcome more than 250 exhibitors from 50 countries, feature over 50 flying displays, showcase more than 100 aircraft, and attract approximately 12,000 visitors. Official delegations from around the world are also expected to participate.
The reception also featured presentations from the event's international sales and marketing representatives, who outlined the future vision for the exhibition and provided updates on participation opportunities, exhibition features and plans for the next edition.
The event concluded with networking sessions between military and commercial attachés and representatives of leading organisations across the aerospace and defence sectors, providing an opportunity to discuss participation opportunities and address enquiries related to ElAlamein International Airshow 2026.
